Packaging headlights.

Soooo .. yesterday i was explaining how we are dealing with old and ugly headlights, so they can be fabululous again.
( Le Me everytime when I’m thinking about our refreshed lights)

Today I will show you what you’ll get once the postman knocks on your door and got you something from us.(Paypal accepted 24/7).
Now this is kind of a lesson how to package things nicely, especially when they are going oversees.

We begin with proper box. The box is the most important thing, since it becomes the frame of the parcel.
Things shouldn’t fit exactly in the box (giving you that strange satisfaction when you are enjoying your obsessive-compulsive disorder).
Rule number uno.  There should be lot of space inside which you MUST fill with air a.k.a. bubble wrap .This exact is 70x55x30cm and it’s best for sending set of headlights + grills abroad.

Wraping the lights back to back, using 3-4 layers of bubble wrap to cover lenses separatelly.
Using thick polystyrene to lift the headlights from the bottom of the box and thin polystyrene layers (pink) for extra lense protection.

The safest place in the box is middle space. Everything is in the middle is almost 100% avoiding any outside impact and stress.
I used to call this “nesting”. The main concept is to use packaging insulation materials so the fragile things to be placed in the middle of the box.

Thick polystyrene from each side. At this point headlights can’t go anywhere.
Second important rule is : Try to prevent any movement that is possible to occur inside of the box.  Things wandering arround inside of the box are more dangerous than outside impact. Boxes are often kicked and throwed arround at airports and post offices and small gaps inside can cause the “Effect of the blender”.

Fix all small metal parts with bubble wrap too. In our case the black hella (on the bottom) is very dangerous because inserts got sharp edges.
Usually people taped up smaller objects to main packages but that is as wrong as eating pizza from the wide side.
Better secure them in bubble wrap, because in this way its impossible to make their way out and chopping things arround. Besides it looks neat and nothing can be lost.

Grills are bubble-wrapped too ( after all this reading, are you doubting ?? ) and we used bubble wrap “pillows” to fill the blank spaces.

And we finish everything with 2 layers top.

Why packaging is so important for us ?

We highly evaluate our customer’s time and resourses they are spending to allow something to break or to be damaged.
So trust us – we know what’s going on and we are doing great.

Some more examples of our packaging job.
